This is the first blog post highlighting one of Napa Valley's true dog friendly wineries.
Of course it must be GiGi (my adorable little Napa rescue Chihuahua) approved!
First on the list, is Frogs Leap Winery in Rutherford. A beautiful winery nestled amongst the vines, with beautiful gardens and an inviting Vineyard house where tastings are enjoyed on the wrap around porch. Doggies are greeted with a welcome note and community water bowl to quench their thirst.
Once we checked in it was a brief stroll to an outdoor table right next to the inviting green grass. Doggies are also able to sit on the porch as well! Our host this day (Lucy) was engaging and sweet, asked Gigi's name and wanted to know a little about her. Gigi made herself at home on the grass, on a cozy chair in the sun and of course in my lap. The tasting was wonderful and educational (not in a boring way) and was paired with cheese, crackers, dried fruit and nuts. Gigi especially enjoyed the cheese :) The Zinfandel and Rutherford Cabernet were my favorites, but they had a crisp and refreshing Sauv Blanc and Chardonnay too! After the tasting, with glass in hand, Gigi were welcomed to stroll through the gardens in search of butterflies and other critters. Wonderful doggy hospitality. A great day! 4 Paw Rating: đžđž
